PARTNERING WITH THE PARENTS
In the Indian context, overseas education process has many stakeholders. It is greatly influenced by the family’s experiences and views. We bring together relevant family members in conversations, balance perspectives and concerns of safety, finances, academics, career opportunities, etc., to make the journey an informed and effective one.
We begin by understanding the student’s strengths, interests and past achievements. Our counsellors then work with the student to evolve a holistic plan. This includes finalizing universities, list of standardized tests to be taken, activities to engage in and how best to present oneself to the universities — accurately and honestly.
Standardized tests (e.g. SAT-I, SAT Subject Tests, GRE, GMAT, Advanced Placement, ACT, TOEFL) require adequate planning and focus. Our experienced team of coaches work with students individually and in groups to help them master concepts (and not just crack the exams). In the past, our students have achieved scores like 2350 on SAT-I, 800 in SAT Subject and 5 in AP.
The process for applying abroad is long and can overwhelm many students/parents. We help students devise an effective plan of action to track all milestones in the process. We also provide timely support and inputs on various aspects of a college application, i.e. essays, extra-curricular activities.
Studying abroad is an expensive proposition, and a strain for most Indian families. A wide range of strategies are available to tap into the available scholarships and financial aid. Our services include helping select colleges and other external sources that can fund the studies abroad. Many of our students in the past have received 100% scholarships / fellowships
Making a successful visa application is a critical stage in the overall study abroad plans. Months of hard work and preparation hinges on making an accurate and effective presentation to the visa officers. We work with parents and students to help them with documentation and communication for the visa interview.
